In Senegal, an incident at Softcare, a subsidiary of a Chinese group manufacturing baby diapers and sanitary pads, has caused controversy. Authorities discovered 1,300 kilograms of expired raw materials at the factory. Initially, the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP) ordered a market withdrawal of the products. However, the ARP later reversed its decision, stating the expired materials were not used in production. This reversal has raised suspicions of attempted bribery against the company. A government health ministry investigation into the matter has been announced but has yet to release its findings.
